TOPCATS ON POLE FOR ZOLDER 24H

This weekend sees the Menzo Sports 24 Hrs of Zolder and although the entry list is down this year on previous years, it is still a good field. Topcats Racing (UK) Ltd have put together a winning squad and stormed the qualifying.

There is a smaller than usual entry list for the Menzo 24 hours of Zolder this year. A sign of the times all over the sport, but in any event, still a quality international field for the 24hr race in the Belcar Endurance Championship Calendar.

Owner and driver of the Mosler Mt900GT3 Andrew Beaumont has selected his drivers well, pulling in Britcar 500 team mates and winning partners from last year's Silverstone thriller Pat Gormley and the tenacious Ben Clucas, and equally determined and focussed Phil Keen, both of whom are regular Mosler Drivers.

Phil Keen has qualified the Mosler on Pole for the start of Saturday's race which begins at 4.00 local time, a delighted Warren Gilbert, Topcats team owner reported today (Thursday).

NGT, TopCats, KRK, KS Motorsport and First Motorsport were the star players in the fight for places up front on the grid and in the end the Belgians had to bow their heads for the fast British GT driver in the Mosler MT900.

Phil Keen: “I hadn’t expected that, because the team told me that the fastest lap time set by the car last year was 1.35, so 1.32.7 is a fair amount under that. I’m obviously delighted with my pole, because it has been a long time since I last started up front. Sorry for the Belgians...”
