MORE MOSLERS IN THE DUTCH SUPERCAR CHALLENGE IN 2010

The coming season will see an increase in Moslers competing for the win in the Dutch Supercar Challenge.

Alex van 't Hoff has been seeing the rear end of Moslers for some time, from his viewpoint in various cars including GT2 Porsches, V8 Stars, and Corvette GT3's. After missing out on an opportunity to buy a Mosler some years ago, he rose to the occasion when the Eigner Racing Mosler came up for sale. His car currently is with Mosler Europe having advancements made to the car similar to those on the Championship winning 'Dutch Missile Mosler' driven by Martin Short.

Paul White had his first ever race in a Mosler in the Britcar 500 with Calum Lockie, and came home a fantastic second, behind the TopCats Mosler. He was smitten by the Mosler after his first test in the car, so smitten that he went out and bought one. That car is now also with Mosler Europe being upgraded and looked over.

After he won his first GT class race, but also had a 125 mph shunt in 2009, Berry van Elk is keen on building on the positives and learning from the negatives of last year. During the off season his team has worked hard to strip and rebuild the whole car to look for hidden problems. "My goal for the coming year is simple: more points, less damage," the young Dutchman stated.

Kevin Riley hopes to be a regular in the Dutch Mosler Challenge again. Like most teams and drivers, he too had to deal with the consequences of a difficult economy last year. Good for him the Mosler MT900R is a rather inexpensive car to run in the GT class and the Mosler Challenge offers an attractive sum of price money, so if his plans come together Riley will be trying to top the charts again.

After two very successful seasons in the Dutch Supercar Challenge, winning the crown in 2008 and being runner op last year, Martin Short will put his focus more on flying the Mosler flag in the International GT Open for 2010. Fortunately that does not mean he will have to be missed by his old competitors as he is looking for as many opportunities as possible to grab a win in his trusty old Mosler.

The car that has won so many races over the past years has a great history: "It was the first Mosler to come to Europe, in 2002, we raced it with considerable success in two Bathurst 24 Hours, at the Rolex 24 (it finished all three, in the top five), it won the first Britcar 24. It was the 2003 British GT Championship winner, the 2008 Dutch title winner, it won the Britcar 3 hour event at Silverstone early in 2009, and has won multiple Dutch events." according to the Englishman. "I haven’t added up how many races that car has won, but it must be well over 50. We used it to test all the development on Mosler cars. It doesn’t show any signs of a lack of pace after all those racing miles, in fact it is probably now the fastest Mosler there has ever been, dipping in to the 2:19s at Spa in testing. How many nine year old cars have those distinctions, and are still very competitive? Beats me....”
